Skambankt and BigBang in Oslo | FESTIVALPHOTO

Skambankt and BigBang in Oslo

Have you ever imagined energetic rock concert at Opera and Ballet house area? Well, that is quite possible. For example, in the capital of Norway. In the heart of Oslo, Operataket started series of various concerts. And just another day after celebration of Midsummer day it was possible to enjoy yourself at famous Skambankt and BigBang concert. Yeah, stage is on the water, possibilities to watch show – on the Operas and Ballet house roof. Spectacular view, nothing less. Possibilities to listen to the concert – whole Oslo downtown. So, can you imagine the atmosphere?

At the concert there were two more bands for warming up. So that were Lionheart Brothers and Smoke Mohawk. They started to play at 6 p.m. After them, straight ahead – Skambankt on the stage at 8 p.m. Before this concert in Oslo Skambankt had tour (it seem to continue, too), so they were pretty happy to play here, also. Though band’s hometown is Rogaland, they mentioned that they finally feel home in Oslo, too. Probably it is so, especially when there is no need to use English and you can see not that small crowd in front of you. Their show started with such old songs as “Dynasty”, “Skambankt” and etc. Also, they have presented few more new songs, which didn’t seem to less good then older ones. Pure energy, almost non-stop rock and perfect mood in the cool evening Oslo.

The last ones were BigBang, who were some kind of the stars this evening. Pretty long show, oldies and some new stuff, various vocalist’s jokes between songs, and getting crazy audience. BigBang have played such songs as: “Girl in Oslo”, “Call Me” and “Saturn Freeway”. And this was the only band, who could afford themselves to go back “en gang til”, so the concert didn’t end up at 10 p.m. It lasted until everyone was satisfied: both band and audience.

Bright and cool summer night didn’t scatter people go home, most of them after concert went to continue good mood rock’n’roll party to the Oslo downtown. Who cares that it’s only Thursday?
