Upcoming UNTOLD Festival goes outside the box with ticket-for-blood donation incentive campaign

he UNTOLD Music Festival has launched a campaign to incentivise blood donation, as the first such entertainment event where tickets can be paid for by blood donation.

"The UNTOLD Festival, in partnership with the National Blood Transfusion Institute, launches 'Pay with blood', a national campaign to encourage blood donation. Between July 14 — 24, blood donors in regional and county transfusion centers receive discounted UNTOLD subscriptions if they go online at www.untoldfestival.com and complete the donor form. Furthermore, all those who sign up between July 17 — 19 as blood donors at the caravan stationed in Herastrau Park of Bucharest, or between July 20 — 21 at the Blood Transfusion Centre in Cluj-Napoca will receive festival tickets on the spot," reads a Wednesday briefing by the organizers of the festival.

According to them, Romania is currently trailing last but one in Europe by the number of active blood donors, with only 1.7 percent of the country's population taking the challenge.

"The UNTOLD Festival takes place in Cluj-Napoca, in the heart of Transylvania, which drove Romania to worldwide fame with the legends about vampire Dracula. Given that Romania faces an acute blood shortage in medical facilities, a campaign that takes inspiration from these myths in order to draw attention to a real problem is more than welcome. The 'Pay with blood' campaign is aimed at boosting awareness of this need and contributing to increasing the number of donors in Romania," UNTOLD Festival director general Bogdan Buta explains in the release.

The Festival runs from July 30 to August 2 in Cluj-Napoca, bringing for the first time in Romania, on the same stage, four of the most beloved electro-dance-music artists worldwide: Avicii, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. As many as 150 international and national artists will take the scene in the various venues of the event.

UNTOLD Festival is the key entertainment project of the Cluj-Napoca 2015 — European Youth Capital program. AGERPRES
