New Single taken from Nova Heart’s upcoming debut album

Debut album available October 2nd on FakeLoveMusic

"Curly bass and pinball machine blips open the track, and as the percussion slowly pops like a kernel in the microwave, you can hear the chorus blossom into a life-affirming mantra." - The FADER

“One of the leading lights of Beijing music” - The Guardian

"Connecting the icy synth-throbs of Ladytron to New Order-esque electropop, Beijing´s Nova Heart are an excitingly dark proposition ... one of China´s best underground prospects." – NME

Nova Heart is happy to announce that, "We Are Golden", the third single from their upcoming self-titled LP, has premiered this week on The FADER. The Beijing-based trio wrote this minimalistic synth-driven pop song to display how they have dealt with malicious people in their life.

Nova Heart's upcoming self-titled debut album was mixed by Rusty Santos (TV on the Radio and Animal Collective) and recorded and produced in Berlin by the italian dance music genius, Rodion. It will be released this fall, onOctober 2nd (via FakeLoveMusic). Advanced album streams and downloads available by request.

Beijing's dark minimal electro / pop group, Nova Heart are comprised of Bo Xuan (bass), Shi Lu a.k.a. Atom (drums), and Helen Feng (vox, keys) the former MTV VJ who's been previously dubbed as, “the Queen of Beijing Rock” and the “Blondie of China.” The band was founded in 2011 and have since been embraced by influential members of Beijing's art and fashion crowds, music critics, and indie music fans alike - from Beijing to Berlin, London to New York and LA.

Nova Heart have recently played the House of Vans in London as well as Glastonbury fest (the first Chinese band to have done so) where they did this Tour Diary for POPULAR TV. The Guardian, NME, Clash, Noisey, and Rolling Stone have all written about them in the past and they have a huge following in Beijing (850,000 streams on Xiami, over 200,000 views on LeTV, and 150,000 hits on Youku). On top of that, Nova Heart are the first chinese band to get high rotation on Triple J in Australia, have been featured in NME and Rolling Stone by senior editor David Fricke, have collaborated with french filmmaker Vincent Moon (Blogotheque, Arcade Fire), and have performed at the Iceland Airwaves music festival. Nova Heart achieved all of this against the odds, being based not in London, New York or Berlin, but in Beijing – where lead singer Helen Feng is a key figure in the growing rock scene, which she discusses in her interview with Alexander Chow for PostPunk here.

In 2012 they released their debut EP, Beautiful Boys in China (licensed in November 2013 to Indica Records Australia with remixes by Acid Washed and Munk) produced by Italian disco cowboy Rodion, toured five continents, played some of the most important festivals in China and abroad (a.o. at Transmusicales 2013 in front of 9000 people) as well as some of the most prestigious museums in Germany.

Nova Heart will be releasing their self-titled debut LP this fall, on October 2nd (via FakeLoveMusic).
