Mona & Maria - My sun

Mona & Maria are a Norwegian duo who have written songs together for many years, both being members of the band Bazooka Boppers, with which they released two albums. After the band’s break-up in 2010, Mona and Maria continued playing together, and it worked out so well that they decided to move forward as a duo.

The music is quite hard to categorise. It's certainly got a pop element to it, but equally there are definite folk influences too, and so calling it pop would be misleading. I'd compare it to Enya or Julee Cruise in that it has that similar blend of pop and other sounds, but Mona and Maria have more of an acoustic feel to much of the album.

One thing that is clear is that this is a fantastic album. Beautiful vocals, great harmonies and excellent songs make this album incredibly easy to listen to. Definitely well worth a listen.
