  Electric Castle

ELECTRIC CASTLE is the largest music festival in Romania and it’s the first Romanian festival that took electronic dance music and live concert sounds to a castle’s domain. After the legendary first two editions, Electric Castle 2015 got even bigger with 6 stages and over 150 artists.

On it’s first edition, the festival was shortlisted for the Best Medium Sized Festival category at Festival Awards, among festivals such as Melt!, Balaton Sound, I Love Techno or Volt. On the second edition, in 2014, Electric Castle was again shortlisted for the Best Medium Sized Festival at Festival Awards.

Held on the domain of Bánffy Castle (or Bonțida Bánffy Castle), the festival wants to be more than a concert extension and tries to offer a full experience to the participants by creating a mix between the unique location, filled with beauty and history, all day round urban activities (like extreme sports, audio-video production workshops) and a large variety of electronic music.

Guests will be entertained from day to night and back again with one of Europe’s few truly 24-hour festivals. Electric Castle is set to be a full festival experience featuring street performers, stand-up comedy acts, the biggest and most elaborate production to date and a brand new set of areas and structures.

The Prodigy, headliners at Electric Castle Festival 2015

The Prodigy is headlining the third edition of Electric Castle Festival 2015 and will perform on the main stage of the event. They will be joined by Krafty Kuts & A. Skills, Eskmo, Woralks, Sattelite, Tesco Disco and Silent Strike, who will also be present between the 25th and the 28th of June 2015 at Banffy Castle, Cluj.

The Prodigy navigated the high wire, balancing artistic merit and mainstream visibility with more flair than any electronica act of the 1990s. Ably defeating the image-unconscious attitude of most electronic artists in favor of a focus on nominal frontman Keith Flint, the group crossed over to the mainstream of pop music with an incendiary live experience that approximated the original atmosphere of the British rave scene even while leaning uncomfortably close to arena rock showmanship and punk theatrics. True, Flint's spiky hairstyle and numerous piercings often made for better advertising, but it was producer Liam Howlett whose studio wizardry launched The Prodigy to the top of the charts, spinning a web of hard-hitting breakbeat techno with king-sized hooks and unmissable samples.

Recently, The Prodigy released their new album "The Day Is My Enemy", that comes after six years of waiting. It is considered one of the best albums of the band's entire career.

They will be joined by Krafty Kuts & A. Skills, two British DJs who work together since 2004. With a mix of hip hop, funk, dubstep and drum and base, Krafty Kuts & A. Skills were present on the scenes of many famous festivals such as Glastonbury, Pacha and Homelands.
