Jurassic Rock is held annually in the town of Mikkeli, Finland and is a rather young festival. It was arranged for the first time in 2007, but has a brief history in the 80's as well. From 1987 to 1990, Jurassic Rock was called "Dinosaurrock" and was located in the same place as the current festival. Mikkeli with a population just short of 50,000 is located in Southern Savonia near the beautiful lake Saimaa. Jurassic Rock, despite its short history, has had some impressive acts from foreign bands, mainly in heavier genre.
