| Party San Open Air Party San Open Air is a metal festival held annually in Schlotheim Flugplatz-Obermehler, Germany (near Muhlhausen) since 1996. The festival was founded in 1996 as an open air birthday party with a few local bands. Due to troubles with the public order office the official open air, called "Endsommer-Festival", had to be delayed from August to September. Nevertheless the first festival took place unofficially in August, so finally there were two open air festivals in this year. This is the reason why the 10th Party.San Open Air wasn't the 10th but the 9th anniversary. In the following years the Party.San Open Air was annually held at the second weekend in August. Crawling into the airless, filthy and musty crypts of Swedish BOMBS OF HADES becomes more and more a addiction. Featuring Jonas Stalhammar(ex-The Crown, ex-God Macabre, ex-Utumno, Macabre God, ex-Abhoth)as vocalist, the band succeeds with playing a great mixture of old-school death metal and powerful crustcore in the vain of Disfear and Wolfbrigade. Unfortunately GORGUTS have canceled their Festivalsummer tour in 2011! Read the band statement below! We are very sorry but shit happens!
"This is Luc Lemay from Gorguts.
First, I would like to apologize for this cancellation to your event and for any problems this could encouter in the process of setting up your festival. This decision was not easy to take. After many meetings and good faith to make this situation constructive for the band I came up choosing the option of not participating to any festival this Summer.
The whole idea about Gorguts doing a European Summer festivals tour was born last year with having in mind the release of our new record for the beginning of the Summer. But believe me, we were expecting our record deal to be negociated and agreed on before Christmas or at the beginning of 2011. But as Im writting this letter, I was not able to sign the contract yet with our record company.
As you know, these procedures can take proportions that we dont expect and then compromising all the activities around the band. So by not having a record coming out this Summer, with no strong promotion from a label to push our new record, Ive decided to wait until these parts of the puzzle get solved before hitting the road again with my new band.
Dont get me wrong, I sincerely appreciate the fact that each of you were interested in Gorguts for your festival but it will be all for the better when the new record will be release.
