| Helgeå F-yra in Knislinge was formed 2006 in primarily to arrange a music festival. Modelled on the long since abandoned Helgeå-rock, an event started by IFK Knislinge and Pälle Fridlund (then a member of the local band Smen’s Baglomma). F-yra wanted to use the same concept as Helgeå-rock so they contacted IFK Knlislinge and Nöjesmagasinet Scala and together they launched Helgeåfestivalen. It has taken a few years to get the festival up and running at full speed, but thanks to much hard work we’ve managed to make quite a name for ourselves in the Swedish musicindustry. From the very beginning, in 2006, we’ve tried to arrange artists with our own hard-earned cash but now in 2012 it’s an entirely different thing. Today, we don’t need to persuade the bands to come and play for us, now they ask us if they can come and play. We take this as a good sign that we do our job right. 2011 was our best year so far. We’d moved to a new, better location close to “Knislinge Folkets Park”. We booked Kim Larsen and since he couldn’t play on the day of the festival we simply added another day to the schedule. 2012 will be a full blown, two-day festival and F-yra has grown to be a big organization that has its values in experience through curiosity. We feel that this format works well and that we will continue to grow as a festival. For the seventh year in a row, the Helgeå Festival is being launched. Last year 4,000 visitors attended, and the festival has become well established in Music Sweden. Many prominent Swedish bands are booked, and naturally the festival’s house band, Smens Baglomma, will play. http://www.helgeafestivalen.se |
