  Coaster

Coaster was born in September 2008 with an initial aim of presenting a solid day of cool acts to cater for the growing central coast regions love of all things creative & musical. We had no idea if it would be a success but worked out butts off to come up with something we would be proud to put our name. And it ended up selling out, with 8000 music lovers dancing and singing their hearts out to acts like The Living End, Kisschasy, Cog & Something With Numbers to name some of our lineup was probably the best moment in our lives thus far, and really encouraged us to push further and present an even better Coaster in 2009.

In 2009 we presented a lineup which featured major Australian acts like Eskimo Joe. Bliss N Eso, British India, Van She, Grafton Primary, Children Collide, PEZ, Gin Wigmore, The Fumes, The Scare & The John Steel Singers, as well as International acts like Does It Offend You, Yeah! GZA/Genius from Wu Tang Clan & The Bronx. We added a brand new stage area on the rugby field, which meant more flow throughout the venue site and a great new place to hang out. Most importantly the capacity increased and we had 10,000 happy faces letting it all hang out.

Which leads us to this – our third year. We spent a long time looking for the right act to headline Coaster 2010 and are pumped to be bringing Cypress Hill to Gosford. To have one of the greatest hip hop acts in the world play Coaster is a dream come true. Coupled with the biggest rock act in the country right now -Birds of Tokyo. Add, Art Vs Science, Bluejuice, Basement Birds and LA rockers Silversun Pickups, as well as this countries next big things in Cloud Control, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Boy & Bear, Illy, Spit Syndicate, The Aston Shuffle and The Holidays we feel we have something for everyone. A musical smorgasbord that will have you bursting at the seams by the time you leave.

Coaster 2010 took place on 25th September at the Gosford Showground’s in Gosford, Australia. Coaster is a 16+ (MA) music festival and is the place to be for anyone who loves their music, arts and the outdoors. Pioneering and reinforcing the strong music, arts and creative culture of the region, Coaster is now in its third year and is recognized already as one of the major events of the year on the Central Coast.
